About Me

Retired and Loving It

I am someone who loves to travel. Back when I retired in 2016 I decided to sell/get rid of all my/our stuff and live and travel in an RV. Along with my wife, we crisscrossed back and forth around the US. Each time we moved we took a seasonal job, usually at the campground we were at, and explored the area on our days off.

Most of our exploring we did on our motorcycle. It was a blast. Unfortunately, the time had come to sell the bike. Florida is extremely hot and rainy in the summer and we just were not using it anymore. We always rode with full gear (helmets, jackets, and pants) so the heat was a bit much for our aging bodies. The motorcycle has been replaced by a 2022 Ford Escape. It is our new exploration vehicle. Although the Escape will never have the same pleasures of riding, at least it has a/c…lol.

Full-Time RV’ers

2022 Ford Escape

We traveled full-time in our RV for 6 years and loved it. A breakdown in Montana shortly after the pandemic found us in a very frustrating position. A fairly simple fix turned into a fiasco because no shop would help. Although we still love to travel, we don’t do it via an RV. We decided to make some life changes. We still have our RV and live in it but it’s at a permanent site in Florida.

Trip From Hell Part 1

I also love photography. I must say that traveling and photography go really well with each other. I love playing with different shots, angles, and settings to see how the shots come out. I have taken thousands of pictures over our course of travel and have decided to put some of my favorites up for sale on different types of wall art, home decor, and other types of products. Is that a shameless plug? Yup…lol. Be sure to visit my “Cool Merchandise” page to check them out.

Permanently Parked

Since the RV is permanently parked in an RV park, you would think that would be the end of traveling, right? Wrong!!! We have decided to travel a little differently these days. Instead of moving the RV around we find an area we want to explore and look for cabins or hotels. Life is too short to sit in one place. No one is guaranteed tomorrow. The RV is now our home base.

Dr’s and TV, and Sitting Oh My!!!

Most people think of retirement as sitting around watching TV, going to doctor’s appointments, and basically sitting around rotting away. That’s OK if that’s what you are into but not me.

With this site, I intend to post cool places to visit, roadside oddities and attractions, important tax deadlines, and much more. I will include some of the real-life struggles of aging including housing, scams, and other topics involving seniors.

Huge Pair Of Legs

We love to look for roadside oddities and attractions. That is one of our favorite things to do. We love state parks, scenic rides, and Geocaching. I am not ready to give that up.

This site was my inspiration to prove that even though I’m aging I can still travel, enjoy kids and grandkids and have fun. You are more than welcome to follow along. If you have any questions for me or if you are ever in the Rockledge Florida area and want to meet up for lunch, Geocaching, or just to hang out you can reach me via my contact page.
