Andrew Jackson State Park is a state park located in Lancaster South Carolina. It’s 360 acres and was established in 1952. It’s named after the only president who was born in South Carolina. It features camping, boating, fishing, a museum, and much more.

Check out my selection of canvas prints. The images are printed on premium canvas and then stretched on a wooden frame 1.5” X 1.5” – gallery wrap or 5/8” X 5/8” – museum wrap. Comes with pre-attached wire, mounting hooks, and nails.
Camping
It has 25 RV/tent sites with paved road access. The road around the campground has some tight turns so if you are a larger vehicle make sure you take it slow. Once at the spot, most are plenty large enough with some having a view of the lake. There is water and electricity at each site but no sewer. There is a dump station on the road that leads out of the park. There are restrooms and showers that are kept very clean. If you need firewood, you order from the main office and they will deliver it to your site.

If you are coming for the day there is plenty to do. You can rent one of their two picnic pavilions by going on their online reservation system. There is also an option to rent their amphitheater and/or meeting house. You can visit the museum, hike one of the trails, rent a rowboat, do some fishing, take a walk around the lake or just sit at the lake and walk the sunset. Note: There are no gas-powered boats allowed in the lake.
Other Attractions
Not into a hike? No problem. Visit the museum and old schoolhouse. The museum chronicles the life of Andrew Jackson and has lots to see. You can’t enter the schoolhouse but can see through the windows and walk around the outside reading about its history. There is also a statue of ‘The Boy of the Waxhaws” which was sculpted by Anna Hyatt Huntington.

There is a large playground for the little ones. Here you will find plenty of things to climb and slide on.

Final Thoughts
Overall this is a nice park to spend the day with family and friends. There is plenty to do to keep everyone busy and happy. Oh, did I mention there are Geocaches at this park? One thing I should mention is there is no WIFI but our Verizon signal was good.
As always, I always advise anyone who is looking to go to any park to check the official website of the park to get the latest pricing and information. You can use the link I have provided below.
