That Was Quick…
Well… that didn’t take long.
After selling the RV a couple of years ago, my wife and I decided we still had the travel bug. We still wanted to explore, still wanted to “camp,” and still wanted to get out there. So we said, “Hey, let’s try tent camping!”
So we did.
We bought a tent.
We bought supplies.
We bought things we thought we needed.
(And a few things we definitely didn’t.)
Then we went camping about 4 or 5 times.
Each trip, we’d come home and say:
“Next time will be better if we just…”
- Bring this
- Fix that
- Pack differently
- Rearrange everything
- Buy one more thing 🙄
Because here’s the thing… we don’t really “hang out” at campgrounds. We use them as home base. We’re out exploring, walking around towns, visiting parks, taking photos, and wearing ourselves out.
The campground is where we crash at night.
Fast forward almost a year later (almost to the day), and we finally had our big realization…
💡 We need a cabin.
Yep. A cabin.
After our last trip was cut short thanks to cold temps (really cold temps!!!) and rain, we looked at each other and said, “Why are we working this hard to be uncomfortable?”
Tenting just turned out to be more work than fun for what we’re trying to do.
So… the tent is gone. Sold. Well, almost. I will know today for sure. (Update: Yes, it was sold)
No regrets. No drama. No sad music playing in the background. 🎻😄
The adventures aren’t over.
Not even close.
We’re just closing the “Tent Chapter” and moving on to the “Cabin Era.”
Now I’m curious…
- Are you a tent camper?
- Did you love it?
- Or did you try it and say, “Yeah… nope” like we did?
- Any funny tent stories out there?
Drop a comment if you feel like sharing. I’d love to hear them.
And if you’re just reading along quietly, welcome. Pull up a chair. 🔥
