Think treasure hunts are just for pirates and kids? Think again! Geocaching has become one of my favorite outdoor hobbies and the perfect excuse to explore new places, discover hidden gems, and occasionally wander around looking suspiciously at lamp posts and guardrails.
Using nothing more than a smartphone and a free geocaching app, I’ve uncovered fascinating parks, scenic trails, historic landmarks, and plenty of places I probably would have driven right past. Whether you’re a beginner looking for your first geocache or a seasoned cacher chasing your next find, there’s always another adventure waiting nearby.
Below you’ll find my geocaching adventures organized by state, complete with cache finds, photos, and stories from the trail. Who knows? You might even discover a few places to add to your own geocaching bucket list.
New to geocaching? Check out my beginner-friendly guide and learn why millions of people around the world have become addicted to this modern-day treasure hunt. Just don’t blame me when “one quick cache” turns into a three-hour adventure!
