While staying at a campground in Missoula Montana for the summer season we were looking for places that were scenic to walk, quiet, beautiful, and free. This little local park fits the bill perfectly. Greenough Park is located a few miles off Interstate 90 in Missoula. The best part bout this park is it’s free!!!

My puzzles are available in multiple sizes and piece counts, offering hours of fun for all ages. Printed on sturdy cardboard and mounted on chipboard, these puzzles feature vibrant, full-color images of stunning landscapes and wildlife. Each puzzle comes in a convenient cardboard carry-case with the image printed on the lid.
History
Greenough Park is a 42-acre city park. It runs along the Rattlesnake Creek for approximately 1 mile. It was donated to the city of Missoula by the Greenough family in 1902. The Greenough family mansion was also located in this area but was moved to make way for Interstate 90.
What It Offers

Besides a beautiful nature setting, Greenough Park offers picnic shelters (can be reserved), picnic tables, a small playground, a jogging trail, a walking trail, fishing, horseshoes, volleyball courts, and restrooms (a port-a-potty in the parking lot). There is no restroom near the picnic shelter which is located on the eastern edge of the park so if you reserve a shelter you must also rent a port-a-potty. I will leave links at the end of the article for the park and picnic shelter rentals.
The Trails

The jogging trail runs the length of the park and is paved. There are also numerous offshoot paths that are not paved that run closer to the creek. Those are the ones we like. There is a birding trail named after Arnold Bolle who was a famous conservationist and a former professor at the University of Montana.
Final Thoughts

Although not the largest or most famous park in the world, it does have a lot to offer. Peace and quiet, nature, and relaxation are all packed into this little-known park. If you are ever in Missoula and need to spend some time in nature with peace and quiet, this is your place.
