Shadow in the Shallows
I just wanted to jump on and let you know that I have added a new design to my Life After 60 Store. It’s called “Shadow in the Shallows”
Shadow in the Shallows captures the raw, prehistoric essence of the American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) in its natural Florida habitat. As a photographer based in Rockledge, I’ve spent countless hours in our local wetlands, but rarely do I find a moment that so perfectly balances the stillness of the swamp with the underlying power of its most famous resident.
In this fine art wildlife portrait, the alligator is nearly one with the dark, murky waters. The low-angle perspective brings the viewer eye-to-eye with the apex predator, highlighting the incredible texture of its armored scales and the ancient patience in its gaze. The play of light and shadow creates a moody, atmospheric feel that emphasizes the “stealth mode” these creatures are known for.
