Cabins

The east side also houses cabins on the water. If you can’t snag one of the cabins on the water, there are many cabins on land with ample parking. There is also a building that you can host group get-togethers, meetings, or family reunions.

Boat Launch

The east side also has a boat launch, fishing station, and kayak rental area. There is plenty of parking, and there is a little store to buy bait and other fishing accessories.

The West Side Wonders

The West Side of Santee State Park is your go-to for a bit more action. With its access to Lake Marion, this area is great for those who fancy a day out on the water. You can enjoy activities like fishing or simply taking a refreshing boat ride. Whether you’re an experienced angler or trying your hand at a new hobby, you’ll find plenty of spots to cast your line.

Family picnics by the lake are another must-do here. The park has numerous picnic areas equipped with tables and grills, making it convenient for a day out with the grandkids. My wife and I walked 3 separate nature trails. These trails were not wheelchair accessible. We walked the Oak Pinally Nature Trail, Sinkhole Pond Nature Trail, and the Limestone Nature Trail.

Residents vs. Out-of-Staters

If you are not a resident of South Carolina, you will not be entitled to any discounts. We thought we would get the senior discount admission fee of $1.50 each, but were told that was only for residents. We had to pay the normal entrance fee of $3 each, which is still pretty good.

If you’re traveling with family, group rates might be an option, offering a more economical way for everyone to enjoy the day’s activities. Consider aligning your trip with a festival or event for a lively and memorable visit.

Staying at Santee State Park – Camping and More
